Media: Russia deploys HIMARS analogue to front

The Armed Forces of Russia have deployed the Sarma multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to the front line — a system described as an analogue of the M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System), RBC-Ukraine reports.

Earlier reports indicated that the Sarma is a lighter version of the Tornado-S MLRS, developed over three years. It features six launch tubes instead of twelve and has nearly half the weight of its predecessor.

Previously, the Polish outlet Defence24 noted that the Russian Sarma — often referred to as an analogue of the American HIMARS — is less compact than its US counterpart.
