Media tour of Zangilan HPP showcases Azerbaijan's renewable energy development PHOTO

Media representatives recently visited the Zangilan Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) of Azerenerji, inaugurated by President Ilham Aliyev a few days ago.

According to APA, Teymur Abdullayev, head of the press service of Azerenerji OJSC, informed journalists that four hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 42 megawatts, each generating 10.5 megawatts, have been constructed in the Zangilan district. Abdullayev highlighted the installation of eco-turbines at Zangilan HPP and other hydropower plants, designed to halt operation during decreases in river water levels, ensuring environmental sustainability.

Abdullayev further revealed that the construction of hydroelectric power plants in Kalbajar and Lachin districts is nearing completion, underscoring Azerbaijan's ongoing commitment to renewable energy development.
