Media: Türkiye freezes assets of 18 Iranian institutions amid renewed sanctions
Türkiye has imposed sanctions on 20 Iranian individuals following the reinstatement of international sanctions against Iran.
In addition, Ankara has frozen assets, bank accounts, and seized property belonging to 18 Iranian institutions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Mehr.
The measures target organisations, including the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran and financial institutions such as Bank Sepah.
In late September 2025, the United States triggered the JCPOA's "snapback" mechanism, reinstating UN Security Council resolutions imposing sanctions on Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs after the 2015 deal's collapse.
This reversed asset freezes and arms embargoes lifted under the agreement, targeting entities like the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran. On October 1, the US added sanctions on 22 Iranian entities and individuals for proliferation support.
