Media: Türkiye not to allow Israel to hold operations against Hamas on its territory
The Turkish National Intelligence Organisation will not allow the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to carry out special operations in Türkiye to kill representatives of the Palestinian Hamas radical movement.
The National Intelligence Organisation has taken all necessary measures to protect Türkiye from all threats to its security, according to Hurriyet newspaper.
Hurriyet newspaper columnist Hande Firat reminded that several years ago an agreement was reached between Türkiye and Hamas that Hamas on the Turkish territory could only be presented as a political group. Firat added that Hamas does not and will not have a military wing. No transfers or operations will be carried out through Turkish territory, and the Israeli side is aware of this.
The Turkish intelligence, at the request of Mossad, after the Hamas attack on Israeli civilians on October 7, negotiated with Qatar, Egypt and the US on the return of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip. Some hostages were released thanks to Türkiye, Hurriyet reports.
According to the newspaper, Israel knows the Turkish National Intelligence Organisation well and if Mossad starts doing what is planned in Türkiye, it will face big consequences.
