Media: US military presents Trump with options for action against Iran
Senior US military officials have presented President Donald Trump with a set of new military options for potential action against Iran, according to a report by Iran International.
The briefing was delivered on Thursday, April 30, by Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, and Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It also included an overview of the latest movements and deployments of US forces across the Middle East.
According to the report, three broad military options were discussed during the briefing.
One option involves the potential deployment of US ground forces to small islands around the Strait of Hormuz, with the aim of reopening the strategic waterway.
A second option is sending a special force to Isfahan to remove Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched to 60%.
The third option consists of conducting rapid but heavy US strikes against Iran.
No decisions have been publicly announced following the briefing.
