Media: Zelenskyy selects new head of presidential office

31 December 2025 10:21

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reportedly selected his nominee for head of the Presidential Office, with sources at the office indicating that Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the current Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, is the leading candidate to replace Andriy Yermak.

According to Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, Vlasiuk was introduced to the Presidential Office by Daria Zarivna, an advisor to Yermak, with whom he studied. Over time, Vlasiuk developed a close working relationship with Yermak, leading some within the Presidential Office to describe him as “Yermak’s protégé.”

Sources suggest that Zelenskyy intends to appoint a head who will not interfere with the office’s political, ethical, or professional priorities, effectively allowing Yermak to maintain influence over presidential decisions and remain closely involved in the president’s daily activities, from private settings to the gym.

Vlasiuk’s career spans both public service and private legal practice. Between 2010 and 2013, he was an assistant to lawyer Oleksiy Bonyuk, later collaborating with him on Ministry of Justice projects. He qualified as an attorney in 2012 and currently serves as co-founder, managing partner, and attorney at the law firm “YePravo.”

He has also been active in public and legal organisations, including membership in the Public Council at the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, chairing its Legal Commission, and co-founding the advocacy groups LEAD Office, “Lawyers for Ecology,” “Anti-Bullying Legal Initiative,” and the Association for Artificial Intelligence Development.

Vlasiuk has held multiple governmental roles: assistant to an 8th convocation parliamentarian from the People’s Front (2014–2019), positions within the National Police (2015–2016), director of the Human Rights and Legal Awareness Directorate at the Ministry of Justice (2017–2019), and head of the Department of State Registration and Notariat.

Since 2020, he has been an unpaid adviser to the Presidential Office and currently serves as first deputy head and secretary of Task Force UA. From April 2022, he has also served as secretary of the International Sanctions Task Force against Russia. In July 2023, he joined the supervisory board of Sense Bank.

In 2024, Zelenskyy appointed Vlasiuk as Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.

On November 28, 2025, Andriy Yermak resigned as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff following searches of his home and office by Ukraine’s anti‑corruption authorities as part of a wide‑ranging investigation into alleged corruption involving government officials and the state nuclear power company.

President Zelenskyy stated he accepted Yermak’s resignation to prevent internal distractions and ensure continued focus on Ukraine’s defence and diplomatic efforts amid the ongoing probe.
