Medvedev to meet Xi Jinping during two-day visit to China
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and Chairman of the United Russia party, has announced his plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his two-day working visit to China.
“Today, I will meet with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping," Medvedev stated, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
During a meeting with Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Medvedev stated that they would discuss the development of existing agreements between their countries and the leaders of their nations.
Medvedev’s previous visit to China took place in December 2022. According to his secretariat, during that visit, he delivered a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Xi Jinping.
The message highlighted the unprecedented level of political dialogue and practical cooperation between Russia and China.
At the 2022 talks, the two sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the Russia-China agenda, including the situation in the post-Soviet space and in Ukraine.
They also noted the alignment of Moscow and Beijing’s approaches to the most pressing global challenges.
