Mehr: Strikes hit port and multiple cities in southern Iran

Residents in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province told Mehr early Thursday, June 11, that they heard a series of explosions across multiple locations in the country.

Blasts were heard in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Minab, Sirik, and Hengam Island, according to residents and nearby villages.

Authorities from military and law enforcement agencies have not yet issued any official statement regarding the cause of the incidents.

Separately, reports indicated clashes at sea between Iranian and US forces.

A Mehr correspondent also noted that air defence systems were activated in the Mohr District of Fars Province in the southwest and in the Asaluyeh District in the south.
