Military correspondent raps Macron for mediating sale of Bastions to Armenia

“We don’t buy cheese or even wine from France, but procure Bastion armored personnel carriers. Let's figure out what kind of armored personnel carriers they are? This is not bad hardware, I tell you, but for the police, for the red berets, for protest actions in case they throw a Molotov cocktail so that it protects you. Also, if they shoot from a machine gun, these armored personnel carriers will protect you, but against drones, this is simply nothing.”

As Caliber.Az reports, French war correspondent of Armenian origin Leo Nikolyan stated this during his broadcast on YouTube.

“The Bastion armored personnel carriers are made in France at Renault Trucks together with Arquus, whose owner Emmanuel Levacher is very close to Macron. The manufacture of Bastions began to replace VAB armored personnel carriers, and the French army purchased a very small number of these hardware. Subsequently, they began to be sold to African countries to be used against their people in Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Niger and some other countries. And now, as you know, these African countries put on a show for France, they spit on Macron. Mali and Niger are the same states, but France divided them, and Mali has a lot of gold, so France was there to plunder. Don't think that France is not a robber. Each country has its own interests.

“So, they sold these Bastions to African countries, but now these countries do not accept them. Now Mr. Emmanuel Levacher, the owner of the Arquus company, told Macron that they could close the company, and what should we do? Order some as part of the military program for 2023-2030. Until today, all Bastions were sent to Ukraine, and what happened? Destroyed. And today even Ukraine does not accept them. The armor is weak and does not hold up. Good for Africa, but not for the Caucasus.

“They will operate, but they are ineffective in mountainous areas. Okay, we spent several million on procurement. By the way, it is still unknown whether they are new or used ones, and that is another question. And now we are spending money uselessly, since Aliyev, when he wants, will be able to destroy these Bastions in a matter of minutes. They have satellites, they can see everything, by the way, their satellites were made in France, don’t forget,” said the war correspondent.
