Military expert: Ado around arms supplies to Armenia disproportionate to its quantity, quality
Armenian military expert, head of the Henaket analytical centre Vitaly Mangasaryan has said that Bastion armoured personnel carrier vehicles are capable of increasing the mobility of the Armenian special forces, that is, they can be transported more safely from one place to another.
“However, if they are attacked by Bayraktar drones or by air strikes, we should try to integrate everything into the available system and then evaluate the effectiveness to decide whether our armed forces will be safe or not,” Mangasaryan said in an interview with the Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
“If the relevant decision makers have an idea of how they will integrate all this into our armed forces, then I think that one of the best ways is to conduct frequent military exercises, but we have not conducted any military exercises since 2020. Of course, there is more talk than action,” the military expert noted.
“As for information about howitzers sent by India and such a fuss due to the acquisition of weapons, I would like to say that there is rather a political component. This ado is disproportionate to the quantity and quality of these weapons. Of course, it’s good when a step aimed at increasing the country’s defence is taken, but this fuss and ado, especially from the French side, was felt. The political component was great. In other words, France, as a superpower, acts proceeding from its interests, and this is normal. By such small steps, it is trying to strengthen its position in this region. Perhaps this is more a component than a security component,” Mangasaryan noted.
“There will be logistical problems, and I think that they may become bigger after Azerbaijan’s quick reaction. Azerbaijan takes all these things seriously. Azerbaijan will use everything, its entire diplomatic arsenal, all possible means to create certain obstacles, and this is normal because it is in hostile relations with Armenia,” the expert said.
