Military expert: Three French radars unable to defend Armenia's sky

"If Pashinyan thinks that Armenia and the region are a separate island on a separate continent, he is very wrong. Now, in his search for new partners, he has settled on the NATO member country France, so we can say, because there have been months of negotiations with France and certain agreements on the implementation of military-technical cooperation have already been signed. However, this is only an intention, we need to pay attention to it," he said.

"Now the problem is with these new partners. For example, we have a neighbour whose interests in this fully coincide with us, of course, Iran. And Iran is ready to provide us with military-technical and military assistance. In addition to that, let's also take into account that our strategic ally Russia is now at war with NATO. And now Pashinyan, being the head of Russia's strategic ally, invites one of the NATO members, which is actually at war with Russia. This is not a normal step. Moreover, Iran has quite serious and harsh assessments of Armenia's representation in NATO. That is, now the current authorities of Armenia are taking steps, according to which they are actually worsening relations with at least two of our neighbours, with whom we have contractual and non-contractual relations, but with coinciding interests.

As for the planned purchases of new weapons, I have already said that these are only intentions for the time being. These are not weapons that units of our armed forces have learnt to use and are ready to use effectively. So acquiring these weapons does not mean that your airspace will be protected. And it is ridiculous to think that these weapons are capable of defending Armenia's sky," Hayk Nagapetyan said.
