Minister: Tehran uses northern corridors to sustain trade flows
27 May 2026 11:35
Iran is relying on land border crossings and ports along its northern coastline to sustain trade flows amid a US naval blockade in the south, the country’s economy minister said on Wednesday, May 27.
Economy Minister Ali Madanizadeh stated that the government is actively using alternative logistical routes to maintain the movement of goods despite maritime restrictions affecting southern access.
According to him, land crossings and northern ports form a central part of Iran’s strategy to keep imports, exports, and broader supply chains functioning under current conditions.
