Minister: Türkiye finds oil almost at water level

An oil field has been discovered in Türkiye.

Oil reserves discovered in the Cukurova district-municipality in Adana are estimated at 8-10 million barrels, according to Hurriyet.

“We have found oil almost at the water level, which is a great boon,” Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said.

According to the message, the economic benefit from the development of the field is estimated at $800 million.

Donmez said that oil is being extracted from a depth of about 350-400 metres. In total, 10 wells will be drilled here, while daily production will be up to 1,000 barrels.
