Mirzoyan's another tearjerking show at UN Security Council He cannot recover from November 10 beatdown
Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan, who was once beaten up for lying, seems not to have learned the lessons of the past and continues to use any excuse to put Azerbaijan in a bad light and boast of his "diplomatic successes". Yesterday at the ministerial meeting of the UN Security Council Mirzoyan again sang out of tune trying to convince the international community of the threat of a "humanitarian crisis" in Karabakh and the impending "genocide" there.
The diplomats of different countries, tired of Armenian ploys, listened to Mirzoyan's mutterings in silence, but they couldn't understand the sophisticated plots of Armenian myth-making - they had too many lies and far-fetched claims and complaints. Obviously, the head trauma Mirzoyan received when a crowd of his compatriots tried to lynch him for the failure of the "miatsum" is making itself felt.
In general, his personal "universe of lies" deserves special attention - it is more absurd than the rhetoric of other Armenian politicians, even revanchists. Apparently, the head of the Foreign Ministry and his entire cabinet are not always curious about what is being written on social networks, otherwise, they would have noticed that Mirzoyan's tales are thoroughly outdated. At least judging by the wow effect, there is no wow anymore.
The Armenians' attempt to make a threat of a humanitarian disaster and a semblance of an apocalypse out of a peaceful protest by Azerbaijani activists is obvious. Alas, it has long been known that lies, speculations, and slanders expressed in lofty language and with pathetic howls can bring even the heads of diplomatic missions to tears. The Armenian minister used such a method this time, too. "For the third day now," he said, "Azerbaijan, in blatant violation of its international obligations, is blocking the Lachin corridor, which is the only way of life, thereby cutting off Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia and the outside world".
And then he presented a heartbreaking picture: the people of Nagorno-Karabakh are deprived of their right to freedom of movement as a result of "machinations of aggressive and bloodthirsty Azerbaijanis: mothers are separated from their children, terminally ill people cannot receive medicine and aid".
But that's not all. In the future, according to Mirzoyan, due to the fault of Baku, the Armenian population of the region will face an icy nightmare, which hardly anyone will survive - say, in this mountainous area in the cold winter, Azerbaijan has stopped the gas supply from Armenia and now everyone here is threatened with death.
In order to make everybody understand the miserable Armenian fate aggravated by the Azerbaijani factor, Mirzoyan insisted that "although the Azerbaijani leadership says it is ready to provide rights and security guarantees to Armenians, Baku continues to carry out a genocidal policy against Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh".
Of course, the Armenian FM kept silent about various "little things" that can shed light on the true state of affairs. For example, he did not specify that Russian peacekeepers blocked the Lachin road, and for some reason, they do not allow Azerbaijani ecologists to the (Azerbaijani!) mines, where monitoring is vital. Let the peacekeepers remove the cordon and let the environmental mission to Karabakh, and the problem will be solved. So, Mirzoyan, who probably suffers from eye defects after the injuries, should get some glasses - maybe he will see the footage from the scene, where the cordon of armed peacekeepers stands like a wall in front of unarmed Azerbaijani ecologists and journalists. The global social networks have been commenting and showing all the peculiarities of the Russian uniform for several days now, and therefore Mirzoyan's bluff makes no sense - he alone has fallen out of the information space.
By the way, since the minister doesn't spend time on social networks, let him at least be interested in the statements of Armenian MPs, who know perfectly well that the Lachin road was blocked by Russian peacekeepers. At any rate, Vigen Khachatryan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract, believes that this is how Russia wants to draw Armenia into a new war with Azerbaijan, and Armenians should understand this and go directly into negotiations with Azerbaijan and its partners.
His sentiments about "mothers separated from their children and the terminally ill, who cannot receive medicine and assistance" do not stand up to criticism at all. Protest participants and the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry have been proving for four days with facts that nobody on their side is preventing the transportation of humanitarian goods and civil cars on the Lachin road - go as much as you want, but without prohibited items such as weapons and drugs. All these statements have long been published in Azerbaijani mass media, but Mirzoyan seems not to have heard about them. Though, the Azerbaijani human rights activist Dilyara Efendiyeva addressed to the Karabakh Armenians with an offer of help and even gave her phone number for communication. And Karabakh Armenians are already contacting her. But there are no "incurably ill" - they were invented by the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry to make it more colorful. And in general, there are no Armenian ambulances at the exit from Khankendi and Gorus, so there are no "terminally ill".
By the way, Mirzoyan, accusing our country of closing "the Lachin corridor, which is vitally important for the Karabakh Armenians," had the nerve to mention "the violation of international obligations of Azerbaijan". And how, with such a memory and traumatized head, did they keep him as a minister? Has he forgotten about his country's obligations? They included the launch of the Zangazur corridor and the withdrawal of Armenian armed gangs from Karabakh!
With the gas "cut off by the Azerbaijani side" and Armenian people in Khankendi literally dying of cold, Mirzoyan also made a mistake: yesterday Azerbaijani Azerigaz presented information, emphasizing that the area controlled by Russian peacekeepers "is supplied with gas from the territory of Armenia, it is not connected to the gas supply system of Azerbaijan". So it turns out Mirzoyan doesn't know which territories his country supplies with gas. It's somehow unprofessional, Mr. Diplomat, the UN won't understand you.
In general, the waterfall of Mirzoyan's outdated and annoying fakes, where every point with claims to Azerbaijan looks incredibly false and far-fetched, is running low. It would be better if he considers himself a diplomat to prepare a text of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. Maybe he wouldn't have to lie anymore.
