Missile strike hits ADNOC vessel in Strait of Hormuz

A vessel owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was hit by a missile strike on Saturday, August 8, while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to Al Jazeera.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates said there were no casualties and that the situation was under control, without providing further details on the extent of the damage.

The reported strike follows earlier accounts of a vessel catching fire in the southern section of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments.
