More than 4,000 transit cars gather on Russia- Georgia border

North Ossetia’s Deputy Prime Minister Irbek Tomaev has said that about 3,500 cars and 1,300 trucks gathered at the Upper Lars checkpoint in North Ossetia on the border with Georgia.
The vehicle traffic flow in the direction of Georgia has greatly increased over the past few days, Interfax quotes Tomaev as saying.
“Today, about 3,500 cars are expected to pass through the Upper Lars checkpoint. The total number of transit vehicles on the roads is 4,800, including 1,300 trucks,” he said during a governmental meeting.
Temporary parking has been created for cars on a section of a road which is under construction near Vladikavkaz, the deputy prime minister added.
