Morning mishap in Iran: Fighter jet crashes under unclear circumstances

A fighter jet of the Iranian Armed Forces crashed in western Iran, Hamadan province, on the morning of January 22.

According to initial reports from local journalists, the pilots managed to eject safely before the crash, per Caliber.Az.

Details about the incident, including the cause of the crash, have yet to be disclosed.

This crash comes amid a series of fighter jet incidents worldwide, underscoring the risks and challenges of military aviation.

On November 4, 2024, a MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Agra, India, during a training flight. A system malfunction forced the pilot to execute emergency manoeuvres, successfully steering the aircraft away from residential areas before ejecting. No injuries were reported.

On October 23, 2024, an F-5M fighter jet crashed in Brazil's Natal metropolitan region. The wreckage was found in a forested area near apartment blocks, raising concerns about the proximity of military operations to civilian areas.

Similarly, on October 16, 2024, a US Navy EA-18G Growler fighter jet went down during a routine operation, adding to the year's string of aviation mishaps.
