Moscow accuses Kyiv of blocking efforts to resume peace talks
Moscow has taken every possible step to continue peace negotiations with Ukraine, while Kyiv is trying to prevent the resumption of the dialogue, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said in an interview with Izvestia.
"The Ukrainian side has made great efforts to block these negotiations through others, making statements that Russia does not want peace... Now they themselves have been forced to admit that Ukraine is incapable of doing anything within the framework of the negotiation process," Miroshnik said.
The negotiations have been on pause for more than 100 days, the ambassador noted. This year, Russian and Ukrainian delegations met on May 16, June 2, and July 23. During these meetings, the sides managed to agree on the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of fallen soldiers.
According to Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsya, the dialogue with the Russian side ended without significant progress.
