Moscow accuses NATO of broadening reach against Russia

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has accused NATO of directing its aggression against the Russian Federation, warning that the alliance’s ambitions are continuing to expand. 

On Sputnik radio, Zakharova stated that in recent years, Russia has witnessed NATO broadening its strategic scope, aiming not merely at the nation’s western front but also at its “underbelly” in what she characterized as a comprehensive encirclement strategy.

She emphasized that this approach affects Russia’s entire southern region as well as the Far East.
