Moscow accuses Yerevan of targeting Russian assets
18 September 2026 13:32
Armenian authorities are seeking to devalue Russian-owned assets in the country in an effort to pressure their owners into selling them, Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Alexey Shevtsov has claimed.
Speaking to journalists, Shevtsov said Russian industrial and infrastructure enterprises in Armenia could become the next targets of what he described as “raider takeovers.”
He claimed that allegations were being promoted about the companies’ underfunding, their negative impact on the investment climate, environmental damage allegedly resulting from their operations, and low wages for employees.
“This is being done to devalue Russian assets and force their owners to get rid of them,” Shevtsov said.
