Moscow: Car explosion triggers blaze at Afimall City complex Video

A large fire broke out at the Afimall City shopping centre car park in Moscow’s prestigious Moscow City district, following what officials say was an explosion.

The fire began after a vehicle caught fire in the underground car park of an office building located on Presnenskaya Embankment, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

Moscow's emergency services confirmed the incident, stating: “The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Moscow received a report of a fire on Presnenskaya Embankment. A vehicle is ablaze in the underground parking area of an administrative building.”

Emergency responders elevated the fire to a heightened response level due to the initial explosion and the potential risk of the blaze spreading. Authorities said there were no casualties or injuries reported.
