Moscow expresses concern over escalation in Garabagh

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said Russia is deeply alarmed by the sharp escalation of the situation in Garabagh and calls on the conflicting sides to stop the bloodshed and return to a diplomatic settlement.

"We are deeply alarmed by the sharp escalation of the situation in Garabagh," TASS quotes her as saying.

The Russian side urges the conflicting parties to stop the bloodshed and immediately cease military action.

“Russian peacekeepers continue to fulfil their functions in Garabagh despite the aggravation," Zakharova said, adding that Moscow reaffirms its commitment to the Russian-Armenian alliance.

Zakharova added that the Russian Federation is not satisfied with Armenia's statements that anti-Russian steps do not affect bilateral relations in any way.
