Moscow eyes China, India as key Arctic partners
The Arctic is emerging as a key platform for expanding Russia’s cooperation with China and India, Russian Foreign Ministry Department Director of European Affairs Vladislav Maslennikov said at the 4th Arctic — Regions Forum.
“The number of those willing to cooperate with Russia in the high latitudes continues to grow steadily,” Maslennikov said.
He noted that dialogue with China and India was developing particularly actively, with both countries showing strong interest in the Arctic agenda and possessing significant resources to support joint projects and initiatives.
“Dialogue with China and India is developing most effectively. They not only demonstrate interest in the Arctic agenda but also possess substantial resources to implement joint projects and initiatives in this area,” Maslennikov said.
