Moscow mayor reports wave of 200+ incoming drones

More than 200 drones approached the Moscow region over a 24-hour period, with Russian air defence systems intercepting most of them before they reached the capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

According to Sobyanin, a significant number of the unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralised at a distance, while dozens were shot down closer to Moscow.

“Over the past 24 hours, more than 200 drones flew toward the Moscow region. The majority were neutralised by air defence forces at distant approaches. 62 enemy UAVs were destroyed on approach to Moscow,” he wrote.
