Moscow moves to widen list of deportable offences for migrants
09 April 2026 15:00
Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced that the number of grounds for deporting migrants from Russia will be doubled.
On April 13, the lower house of parliament will begin reviewing a bill that would increase the number of administrative offences that can trigger deportation from 22 to 43, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The proposed grounds include disturbing public order, disobeying police, and disrupting critical infrastructure.
They also cover insulting human dignity or public morality online, discrediting the Russian Armed Forces, and calling for anti-Russian sanctions.
