Moscow: No formal offer yet for Black Sea military moratorium

Russia has not received a formal proposal for a possible moratorium on military operations in the Black Sea, despite calls for such an arrangement being raised through various channels, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said.

“We have recently been hearing many calls for various moratoriums and ceasefires. These ideas are being voiced through different channels, but we are not receiving any formalized proposals,” Grushko told journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

His comments came after Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara was closely monitoring maritime security in the Black Sea and had conveyed a proposal for a moratorium on military operations to both Russia and Ukraine.
