Moscow reports hundreds of Ukrainian drones shot down in single day
Russian air defence systems intercepted 558 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles and eight guided aerial bombs launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
In a statement, the ministry said Russian air defences had repelled a large-scale aerial assault, reporting the destruction of hundreds of drones alongside guided munitions.
"Air defence systems shot down eight guided aerial bombs and 558 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, cumulative losses inflicted since the outset of what Moscow describes as its "special military operation" amount to 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 181,724 unmanned aerial vehicles, 666 surface-to-air missile systems, 30,163 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,758 multiple-launch rocket systems, 35,769 field artillery pieces and mortars, and 66,525 specialized military vehicles.
