Moscow: Russian Aerospace Forces destroy Ukraine's eight combat aircraft
The Russian Defence Ministry has reported high-precision strikes on objects of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine that repair weapons and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The official representative of the Russian Defence Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, made the remarks, Interfax reports.
"In the city of Zaporizhzhya, the production workshops of the Iskra plant were hit, in which the repair of air defence radar stations and counter-battery warfare was carried out. The production buildings of the Migremont aviation repair plant, where the restoration of aviation equipment of the Ukrainian Air Forces was carried out, were also destroyed," he said.
Seven control points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hit over the past day in the areas of the settlements of Velikomikhailovka, Dnipropetrovsk region, Nikolaev, Artemovsk, Perezdnoye, Kaleniki, Soledar DNR and Poltava, Zaporizhzhya region, "as well as manpower and Ukrainian military equipment in 149 districts".
Russian troops attacked military airfields in the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and eight Ukrainian Air Force combat aircraft were hit, the Russian Defence Ministry reported.
According to Konashenkov, as a result of the strikes, one Su-27 and one Su-24 were destroyed, and two more Su-27 and one Su-24 received critical damage. The enemy's losses in manpower amounted to up to 30 servicemen, Konashenkov said.
"In the Dnipropetrovsk region, as a result of a precision strike on the Dnipro military airfield, three aircraft of the Ukrainian air force were destroyed," Konashenkov said.
The Russian military struck an Iskander missile at a railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, destroying more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers and 10 pieces of military equipment heading to Donbas.
"A high-precision strike of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of the settlement of Novyy Bug in the Mykolayiv region destroyed the command post of the grouping of Ukrainian troops 'Kakhovka'. Some 64 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and seven units of military equipment have been liquidated," he said.
