Moscow says West imposed nearly 20,000 sanctions against Russia
Western countries have imposed about 20,000 sanctions against the Russian economy, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said.
"About 20,000 different restrictive sanctions have already been imposed on Russia. Actually, they cannot be called sanctions, because sanctions are a legitimate measure imposed by the [UN] Security Council, and these are unilateral restrictive measures," the diplomat said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to Pankin, the incessant process of imposing sanctions by the US and the EU is aimed at Russia "weakening and falling".
"This calculation is not justified, despite the fact that such calculations are supported by a powerful campaign of disinformation, which is conducted with the help of today's diverse means," the deputy minister added.
