Moscow slams Germany’s arms supplies to Ukraine as “black ingratitude” towards Russia
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized Germany for supplying weapons to Ukraine, accusing Berlin of repaying Russia with "black ingratitude."
"The Germans should remember that our country supported and facilitated the reunification of their nation. In return, they are now repaying us with black ingratitude by sending weapons," Zakharova said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
She went on to accuse the German government of fostering the rise of Nazi and fascist ideologies in Ukraine.
Additionally, Zakharova pointed out that Germany currently aligns itself with countries that were once against the reunification of East and West Germany, specifically naming France and the United Kingdom.
Zakharova's remarks follow her earlier comments on German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's statement that February 23 would be a "realistic date" for new parliamentary elections in Germany.
She sarcastically questioned whether the German media would see "Moscow's hand" behind this suggestion.
