Moscow urges UN to recognise new lands as part of Russia
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, head of the Russian interdepartmental delegation Sergey Vershinin has said that the United Nations and other international organisations must assess the situation in the new Russian territories.
“The United Nations and other international organisations must assess the situation in the new Russian territories, namely, Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR] and Luhansk People’s Republic [LPR], Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions,” he said, TASS reports.
Vershinin also called on international organisations to take into account that the population of Donbas has suffered from Ukraine’s attacks since 2014.
He noted that Kyiv’s attacks on Donetsk and Luhansk resulted in “big destruction”. Therefore, the Russian side cannot accept this.
