MP complains about international isolation of Armenia's position at last OSCE meeting
The Armenian delegation, attending the 29th meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (AP) from July 1 to 6 in Birmingham, failed to include additions regarding Armenia or Karabakh in the resolutions.
The statement was made on the social network by the MP of Kocharyan's "Armenia" faction Lilit Galstyan, who participated in the work of the assembly, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
Galstyan said that the document failed to include even humanitarian issues that concerned "the return of prisoners, the problems of displaced persons, the protection of cultural heritage."
She noted that the delegations attending the OSCE PA meeting were focused on discussing the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and all resolutions were aimed at condemning Russia, as well as tightening political and economic sanctions.
“In my speeches, I emphasised the inevitability of resolving the conflict within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group, recalled the violation of the territorial integrity of Armenia, pointed out the need to prevent possible ethnic cleansing in Karabakh, release prisoners, raised the issue of the right to self-determination, touched upon humanitarian problems, but the Azerbaijani side stated – the conflict is resolved, and Yerevan, Baku and Charles Michel agreed on everything,” the MP noted.
Galstyan also said that this was the first time she faced isolation and misunderstanding of Armenia's position on such a serious international platform, which were caused by the peace agenda pursued by the authorities, which "crossed out the national interests of the Armenians."
