Regional coasts at risk if Iran’s security is threatened, MP warns

Security along the coasts of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman would come under threat if Iran’s coastal security is targeted, an Iranian lawmaker has said.

Fadahossein Maleki, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, accused the United States of obstructing progress in negotiations and violating ceasefire arrangements through measures such as a maritime blockade, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

He added that the Islamic Republic had full control over the Strait of Hormuz and did not seek negotiations or a ceasefire.
