MTV, Nickelodeon and other Paramount TV channels to stop broadcasting in Russia
Paramount TV channels will stop broadcasting in Russia on April 20, vc.ru reported. In particular, Nickelodeon and MTV will not be broadcasted in the Russian Federation.
Moreover, Paramount announced the suspension of its activity in Russia in mid-March, without specifying the date.
Paramount also includes such entertainment and family-oriented TV channels as Nick Jr, Nicktoons, Paramount Comedy, and such music TV channels as MTV Russia and MTV Live HD.
Earlier, a similar decision was made by Discovery company. It stopped broadcasting 15 cable TV channels, including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, and TLC in Russia.
Earlier, Universal Pictures announced the suspension of film rentals in Russia. A similar decision was made by the Walt Disney entertainment and media conglomerate, which unites Lucasfilm, MARVEL, Pixar, Maker Studios and others. Sony Pictures and Paramount also refused to work with Russian distributors.
