23 February 2026 12:37
A massive traffic accident involving 16 vehicles occurred on the Anatolian Highway in Sakarya province, Türkiye, leaving 13 people injured, four of them in serious condition.
The incident took place near the village of Alandzhuma, not far from Ankara, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Preliminary reports indicate that thick smoke from burning tires on the roadside severely reduced visibility, forcing drivers to brake suddenly. Vehicles behind them were unable to stop in time, triggering a chain-reaction collision.
The crash involved a mix of buses, minibuses, and passenger cars. Emergency services responded promptly to assist the injured and clear the scene.
