NATO officials visit Armenia to discuss defence reforms, cooperation
Representatives of the Armenian Defence Ministry and members of the delegation led by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Supreme Allied Command Europe, Vice Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal discussed the reforms of the Armenian army in Yerevan.
“During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Artur Yeroyan and Head of the Defence Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ayvazyan," Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The meetings also discussed issues related to the current state and prospects of Armenia-NATO cooperation.
"The NATO side was presented with the progress of defence reforms being carried out in Armenia,” the statement said.
As part of the visit to Armenia, the NATO delegation visited the V. Sargsyan Military Academy of the Ministry of Defence and the peacekeeping brigade.
