NATO spy plane circles Russia's Kaliningrad for second consecutive day
On July 8, a NATO-operated Bombardier Challenger 650 Artemis II reconnaissance aircraft flew around Russia's Kaliningrad region for a second consecutive day, Russia's state news agency reported, citing a source in European Union air traffic control services.
The source said the aircraft circled the Russian exclave through the airspace of Poland and Lithuania and over international waters in the Baltic Sea.
According to the source, the aircraft departed from its home base in Constanța, Romania, on Tuesday, completed five circuits around the Kaliningrad region and then returned to base.
The source added that air traffic controllers had recorded similar flights by the Bombardier Challenger 650 Artemis II around the Kaliningrad region on several occasions in recent months.
