Nearly 400 vehicles stuck on Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan border

Almost 400 vehicles are stuck in a traffic jam at the Ak-Tilek-Avtodorozhny checkpoint on the Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan border on August 21, 2023.

“About 370 cars are waiting to cross the state border to leave the Kyrgyz Republic as of 18:30 hours," the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan told TASS.

The press service added that only three vehicles crossed the border between 09:00 and 18:00 hours.

“The border guards of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chuy section are considering the issue of holding a meeting with Kazakh representatives about the reasons for the slow passage of vehicles,” the ministry said.
