Seventy-seven historical buildings and palace museums were damaged in Tehran during the war, Sajjad Asghari, secretary of the Committee for the Follow-up of the Protection of Historical Monuments in Tehran, said.
He noted that around 90% of the damage is minor, while approximately 10% is assessed as severe, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
According to him, the damage was mainly limited to the structures themselves, while museum exhibits and cultural artefacts inside were not affected.
Of the 77 affected sites, 38 are classified as national heritage properties in Iran.
