Netanyahu accepts role on Trump’s Board of Peace
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Board of Peace, which will focus on resolving the Gaza conflict and potentially other global crises, the PM’s office announced.
The Board of Peace, a Trump initiative created to address global conflicts starting with the Gaza Strip, will have him as its lifelong chair.
The American president has invited 58 leaders to join the council, which seeks to bring together countries willing to assume responsibility for the region’s long-term stability and development.
Meanwhile, diplomats from European countries have expressed concerns that Trump could use the Board as an alternative to the UN, creating a parallel platform for resolving international conflicts.
