Netanyahu orders strikes on Beirut’s Dahiyeh after Hezbollah ceasefire breaches
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the military to conduct strikes in Beirut’s Dahiyeh area, saying the action comes in response to repeated ceasefire violations by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“Following repeated violations of the ceasefire regime in Lebanon by the terrorist organisation Hezbollah and attacks on our cities and citizens, I instructed, together with Defence Minister Israel Katz, that the Israel Defence Forces carry out strikes on terrorist targets in the Dahiyeh area of Beirut,” Netanyahu wrote on the social media platform X.

The directive was issued despite a US-brokered ceasefire that began on April 17 and was subsequently extended until early July.
According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, Israeli strikes since March 2 have resulted in over 3,400 deaths nationwide.
