NetBlocks: Iran still offline after nearly 3 months
21 May 2026 14:39
Iran’s sweeping internet blackout has entered its 83rd consecutive day, according to internet monitoring organisation NetBlocks, marking one of the longest sustained national shutdowns ever recorded in a connected society.
In a statement posted on social media, NetBlocks said international internet access in Iran has been “largely barred” for more than 1,968 hours, warning that the prolonged disruption continues to isolate millions of people from the outside world.
The organisation stressed that “a free and open internet is central to the protection of life, liberty and public accountability.”
