New Armenian speaker steps down from Türkiye peace talks

Ruben Rubinyan, Armenia's special representative for the normalization of relations with Türkiye, has announced that he will no longer participate in the negotiation process following his appointment as speaker of the Armenian parliament, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Addressing speculation surrounding his new role, Rubinyan dismissed claims that his appointment was intended to allow him to continue leading the talks with Türkiye.

"I will no longer continue negotiations with Türkiye. My opponents' claim that I was elected in order to continue the negotiations has fallen apart," Rubinyan said.
