Iran has begun construction of a new underground facility near the city of Karaj that is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to satellite imagery analysed by Soar Atlas.

The satellite analytics company said the facility is being built near Karaj in northern Iran, citing imagery from U.S.-based Vantor, which specialises in satellite-based reconnaissance.
Construction work reportedly began around May 21. Soar Atlas said the purpose of the underground complex has not been publicly confirmed, but it is believed to be intended to house strategic infrastructure belonging to the IRGC.
