New wave of US strikes targets Iranian military infrastructure

US forces have targeted Iranian air defence systems, radar installations and drone command units in a new series of strikes, according to sources cited by Axios.

Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported the development, citing an American official who said the strikes focused on military assets in southern Iran.

“Senior U.S. official: All the targets being attacked are located in southern Iran and include air defence systems, radars, and drone command and control units,” Ravid wrote on X.

The reported strikes follow an earlier announcement by US Central Command that additional military action against Iran had begun “for self-defence purposes.”
