Nigerian Army neutralises over 60 terrorists in major northern offensive
The Nigerian Army has successfully neutralised at least 60 terrorists involved in violent activities in northern Nigeria, as part of an ongoing offensive by Operation Hadin Kai.
In a concise statement posted on the Army Headquarters’ official Facebook page, the military confirmed that the operation took place in the early hours in Bita, Borno State, involving coordinated land and air assaults, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The statement read, “In a decisive and coordinated operation, gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched a simultaneous land and air assault on terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, in the early hours of today [May 30]. The intense battle resulted in the neutralisation of at least 60 terrorists.”
This operation is part of a series of recent military actions targeting insurgents in Nigeria’s North-East region.
Earlier this week, Nigerian forces also conducted a successful attack in New Marte, Marte Local Government Area, where dozens of Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants were killed. Unfortunately, two soldiers sacrificed their lives during that engagement.
