Nine suspects detained in Türkiye for allegedly financing ISIS

Authorities in Türkiye have detained nine individuals suspected of financing ISIS, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspects are accused of violating the Law on the Prevention of Financing of Terrorism, TRT Haber reports.

Counterterrorism units from the Gendarmerie Command conducted coordinated raids at pre-identified locations in Izmir, Istanbul, and Konya. All nine suspects were apprehended during the operation.

The prosecutor’s office confirmed that the arrests are part of a broader effort to curb financial support for terrorist activities and disrupt networks associated with ISIS.
