North Korea fires another series of ballistic missiles
North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has fired two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off the Korean Peninsula amidst rising tensions in the region.
As the South Korean Yonhap reports citing the republic’s Armed Forces, the missile launches occured between 11:59 and 12:18 local time on October 28.
The DPRK recent string of missiles launches into waters close to neighbouring countries Japan and South Korea has caused great concern in the region with allies of those countries such as the USA taking an active role in cautioning North Korea to end those provocations.
The latest missile launch happens just a few days after the diplomatic representatives of South Korea, Japan and the USA met in Tokyo to discuss their response should the DPKR continue such provocations. Caliber.Az recalls that the three countries issued a statement, assuring that there would be an "unparalleled" response should North Korea conduct another nuclear missile test.
This latest act by the DPKR coincides with the last day of South Korea’s annual military training sessions, which were joined by the US army this year.
