NYT: Iran begins implementing its “Madman” plan against US, Israel
Iranian authorities have developed an operation called “Madman” against the United States and Israel, as reported by The New York Times, citing unnamed sources.
According to the publication, the plan was prepared after the 12-day war, when the republic’s leadership began considering the possibility of a new confrontation.
Sources clarified that the goal of the operation is to make the conflict as costly as possible not only for Israel and the United States, but also for Arab countries in the region.
The report reads that the operation envisaged several stages. At the first stage, strikes against Israel were planned; at the second stage, attacks on U.S. military bases in Arab countries. At the third stage, Iran allegedly intended to strike civilian facilities, including airports, hotels and embassies.
The newspaper notes that Iran has already begun implementing this plan.
