Official accuses Russian envoy of meddling in Armenia's domestic affairs And for controlling "fifth column"
Hayk Sukiasyan, vice chairman of the Christian Democratic Party of Armenia, has accused Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin of directly coordinating the actions of a so-called "fifth column" within Armenia.
Sukiasyan's remarks allege that Ambassador Kopyrkin is orchestrating the activities of revanchists, with the ultimate goal of advancing Russian interests in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“The revanchists are under the direct control of Ambassador Kopyrkin, and what they do is the will of the Russian Federation. Their goal is precisely this [meaning joining the Union State], it’s just that now the roar is on the field of Ukraine, so they didn’t talk about it directly. He [Kopyrkin] is telling an absolute lie, lies are one of the main components of Russian foreign policy,” he said.
According to him, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin directly coordinates the actions of the fifth column in Armenia.
Sukiasyan claims that the revanchists will soon start "singing a song with Kopyrkin's voice".
"One should bear in mind why Russia is so nervous, because it realises that Armenia is leaving it forever. Even now, passions are boiling in Tavush [Tovuz]. Armenia's "analytical" field is eating people's nerves: "Tavush! Tavush! Here they are giving up, they have given up". These analyses are motivated by Armenian masochism, Kopyrkin also provokes, he knows that there is a small wave of protest, and passions are constantly inflamed on it," Sukiasyan noted.
Sukiasyan further emphasized the urgency for the Armenian Foreign Ministry to react to Kopyrkin's statements.
"One thing should be said to Kopyrkin. If one day you emerge as a normal, civilized state and people and introduce yourself to the Armenian people and Armenia, we may think that there is a minimum at which relations with Russia can be established. If not, then get your hands out of here, keep your paws off. That formula of 200 years, according to which they were eternal beneficiaries of our blood, took away buckets of blood from us, ruined our state, will not happen this time," Hayk Sukiasyan said.
